A few weeks ago, we were told that Niko had a cancerous mast cell tumor located just above his ear on his head. Luckily for all of us, Niko's cancer had not spread. His tumor was removed with clean margins and was diagnosed as a grade 1 mast cell tumor (lowest grade possible with highest chances of survival -90%). Niko is now cancer free. The specialist told us that we need to continually check for bumps and that he needs to be checked by the vet every three months as mast cell tumors are known to reoccur. We are very glad that Niko is recovering well. (Great picture of his enormous tongue too!)
